HEPAiRx units are portable, floor mounted, room air conditioning units that have been enchanced with a built-in-air-to-air energy recovery ventilator and high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter. HEPAiRx reduces the amount of airborne contaminants that may cause reactions in individuals who suffer from asthma, thereby alleviating the symptoms of asthma and improving users' quality of life.
During the Clarkson University-led field study, HEPAiRx unts are being deployed in homes where an asthmatic child lives. Clarkson is collecting and analyzing the resulting data to ascertain the effect of the HEPAiRx on air quality and acute respiratory system response.
HEPAiRx is being developed and tested under funding awarded Air Innovations by the Syracuse Centrer of Excellence Office of Industry Collaboration and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
HEPAiRx is a registed trademark of Air Innovations, patent pending.
